Emory Aikikai

Welcome to the Emory Aikido Club

Aikido is a Japanese martial art based on principles and techniques of ancient bujitsu. As a martial art, aikido uses the principle of nature and the laws of physics to use the body's resources efficiently in combat; the principles of aikido focus on harmoneous resolution to conflict and confrontation. Aikido was founded by Morihei Ueshiba (1883-1969), a man commonly referred to as "O'Sensei" (an honorary title translated as "great teacher").

Emory Aikikai is affiliated with the Aikido Schools of Ueshiba and invites anyone interested in learning more about this rich and rewarding art to contact us, and hopefully come train with us. Emory Aikikai trains at the Woodruff Physical Education Center (WoodPEC), located on the Emory University Main Campus in Atlanta, Georgia.

Please use the links above to learn more about the dojo; additional links main be found within the main pages. Emory Aikikai encourages you to use the "Contact Us" section if you would like to speak with a representative of the dojo.
